They increasingly encompass artificial intelligence systems, communication between devices, data governance, and cybersecurity. These issues were at the heart of the conference dedicated to the New Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, organised by ELOKON Poland.

During her presentation, Gabriela Bar focused on how the AI Act and the Data Act are beginning to have a tangible impact on the industrial sector—not in theory, but in the everyday practice of machine manufacturers and system integrators. In particular, she addressed:
-
when an AI system embedded in a machine may be classified as a high-risk AI system,
-
in which situations the modernisation or updating of AI systems may trigger the need for a renewed conformity assessment,
-
why access to data (Data Act) and AI risk management (AI Act) have a direct impact on machine safety and manufacturer liability.
These regulations increasingly overlap, creating very concrete legal and operational consequences—both at the machine design stage and during subsequent operation, servicing, and software updates.

In thanking the organisers for the invitation, we would like to emphasise the excellent organisation of the conference and to thank all speakers for their substantive and inspiring contributions.
Cybersecurity, the use of AI in industry, robotics, and the automation of industrial processes are areas that already require informed legal and technological decisions from businesses—and in the coming years will be of key importance for regulatory compliance and market competitiveness.
